Volunteer Application Process
All potential applicants must complete a selection process to become a 4-H Volunteer:

Print and complete an OSU Extension volunteer application and return it to the Monroe County Extension Office.

Print and sign the volunteer standards of behavior form.

Submit fingerprints for background check (see procedure below).

Understand the volunteer position description.

Participate in an interview.

Attend volunteer training.
Procedure for the Fingerprint Background Check
Monroe County Job & Family Services – To have your fingerprints taken, call 472-1602 to make an appointment with Fran. The office is open 8-4:30 and located at 100 Home Ave., in Woodsfield beside the library. Tell Fran you need a background check for 4-H. Take your Driver’s License and $22 processing fee. The processing fee may be paid with cash, check or money order.
Switzerland of Ohio Local School District – To have your fingerprints taken, go to the school district's main office at 304 Mill St., Woodsfield between the hours of 8 am - 12 noon or 1 – 4 pm on any weekday. At the front desk, ask for Judy. Tell Judy that you need a background check for 4-H. Take your Driver's License and $30 processing fee. The processing fee may be paid with cash, check, or money order.
Monroe County Sheriff’s Office – To have your fingerprints taken, call 472-1612 to make an appointment with Vicki. The office is open 9-5 and located in Woodsfield beside the court house. Tell Vicki you need a background check for 4-H. Take your Driver’s License and $30 processing fee.
